I woke up to silence...I thought why aren't the babies making any noise ? I looked , and Canada was laying on the girl.She was still warm so I tried to resuscitate her ...couldn't get her back so I got aggressive and starting checking EVERYTHING .... Canada had milk , in fact she looked engoraged...the beginnings of mastitis on the highest tit on the right side.( I would deal with that later first the boy ,,is he ok?...His temp was normal, he did not have a cleft Palette, He seemed strong still but "Ribby" so of course I weighed him ..I about fainted ! He was all the way down to 3.2 ounces by that evening he was down to 3.0 despite the fact that I milked Canada and gave him regular feedings every two hours of her milk ..could her milk be bad? so I made up a batch of tried and true goats milk formula
Finished feeding my little Prince 3 cc for his 7 :30. PM feeding .
....no Colostrum this time , as I gave 1 cc at 5 pm feeding . He is still not back up to his birth weigh yet . still working on it .
..HE HAD 3 CC AGAIN . I AM GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE THE PUPPY FORMULA .....10 oz can of condensed goat’s milk (if necessary you can sub with evaporated, condensed cow’s milk but do not dilute either goats or cows) You can find this where you get other canned milk.
1/3 cup of strained liver water (you can substitute with freshly made beef broth)
2 raw egg yolks
1 T mayonnaise or canola oil, your choice
1 cup whole fat yogurt, best quality and freshest possible
1 tsp Karo syrup (either light or dark)
1 dropper of baby vitamins (any drug store)........................

Update on Prince : Well it is almost 2 AM Arizona time and I have been trying for the last couple of hours to get Prince to take his 3 cc of formula in his bottle .He just wouldent drink it for me so I had to tube feed him He is down to 3ounces from his birthweight of 3.8 ounces ...This is a picture of him in the bed side set up I have for him and his Ma Ma Canada to stay in so that I can hear him when he cries and keep a close eye on him

Update on Prince : 3 PM feeding it has been a little over 3 hours since his last feeding , as I was feeding him too much . So I held off to make sure I was not feeding too often .After only 2 cc I noticed formula comming out of his mouth ( not his nose ) so I stopped . ( This worries me ) I have diluted his pre made formula with plain Pedialyte so his kidneys will not have to work so hard. .He is still pooping and peeing well. He is still not fleshy and plump like he should be . Going to give him a bit of Glucose on the tongue, and SQ Ringers Lactate to get him Hydrated

Update on Prince: 10:00 PM feeding , his sucking reflex is kickinh in but he still takes FOREVER to get his 2 tp 3 cc in his Tummy. Had to give gas drops again. He still has not gained weight I guess I am just not patient and worry too much. One week old and only 3 ounces has me worried

Update on Prince: today is Monday. It's 6:30 AM Arizona time. Prince drank his 3 mL from a bottle this morning. I also gave him some glucose and some probiotics for his G.I. tract. Still not gaining anything so I don't know maybe there's something really wrong with him .....he should be gaining by now . He is eight days old today and still not back up to his birth weight which was 3.8 ounces. He reminds me so much of Wiggles ( a past Pom of mine ) his face even looks like Wiggles face did when Wiggles was ab new born ....such a tiny, tiny little face...

JULY 1
Well I have to confess that I missed his 10 PM feeding , and it was MIDNIGHT when I feed my poor little Prince .....the good news is I weighed and he has GAINED weight , he now weighs 3.3 ounces !!! YEAH ! ..and as far as missing his feeding it may have been a good thing .he actually SUCKED DOWN . 3 cc of formula out of his bottle ! I did not even have to tube feed him ..it was wonderful to watch . I have never seen him so hungry ! He acted like he was STARVING ...NORMALLY WHEN I give him the bottle to suck on before I tube feed him he just kind of mouths it and let's a little formulae drip down his throat. Not tonight , he sucked that whole thing Down ..I am so happy , I have hope now that he will make it ....

7 AM feeding was uneventful. But he did suck his formula out of the bottle on his own again . I did not need to tube feed him . I think he's on the road to recovery . I just weighed him and he's down to 3.2... Could it be that his mother is stimulating him too much, to poop??? Lol ......if it's not one thing it's another ! Ohhhh the life of a Pom Mom
Update on Prince : 7/1/2014 he is 9 days old now and weighs 3.2 ounces .....this is right before his 2 PM feeding . He is so hungry ! He is so strong now .I just wish his Mom would feed him now that he is strong enough to suck her milk out ...any suggestions on how to get her to feed him would be appreciated

Prince update : 10AM feeding 3cc Gonna give him more as soon as Canada is done pooping him . Sure glad I did not send Canada to Bonnie last year or I would not have my precious little Prince ...He may be the TINY Ice White male out of Icee I have been waiting for . He is 10 days old . His weight fluctuates when I feed him He was 3.2 eariler . I waited three hours and re weighed him before I fed him at 10 and he as gone down to 3.1 I giess that is how much 5 cc weigh since that is how much he ate at his lat feeding . His pigment is comming in nicely

Prince Update : 8 PM feeding he did not eat a lot but he did eat 2 cc I will wait an hour and feed him again . He is 11 days old now and he weighs 3.6 ounces Mom Canada is cleaning him right now
Update on Prince : 10 AM he ate pretty good .Looks a little bloated so I will give him gas Drops .have not weighed him yet today ...I will also give him a bath today...he is 12 days old

Prince is 12 days old now 7/4/2014 , Prince just got his first bath .
...Prince update: 11 PM ...Had to go back to tube feeding tonight (4cc) ,he wouldn't suck at all. Opened a new can of formula tonight , added a bit of Nutra Cal to the formua ... He had gas , so I gave him the gas drops . Canada is acting weird and does not want to be in with him .She is still cleaning him but I may have to put him in my small incubator if she keeps this up . Im gonna give her more
